Just curious but how do you guys dry out your shrooms? I've seen the thing where you have a sreen w/ desiccant with room for water to drip and then another screen above where the shrooms rest in an air tight container. I was wondering if it would work to dry them with a fan for 24 hours and then stick them in glass jars with desiccant packets? If I do end up using the method with the 2 screens will I really need space at the bottom for the water to collect? It seems that if i fan dryed them for 24 hours there wouldn't be all that much water left in the shrooms to drip down? Can i just put some desiccant in an airtight container and then put the shrooms in (not touching the desiccant) with no space for the water to collect? would tha work? and would the jar idea with packets work?

24-48 hours in front of a fan, then followed by a two screen stage desiccant chamber.  Cracker dry in 3 days, even the big harvests.  It's old and ghetto, but works very well.  The fan removes the load of the moisture as to not tax your desiccant too much, and you get more bang for your buck.  I'd build a decent sized fan screen and desiccant chamber if you plan on doing this, jars doesn't sound too practical.

However, the best route for drying seems to be an All American Dehydrator.

I hope that helps :mushroom2:
