"Where The Buffalo Roam"

I just watched "Where The Buffalo Roam" with Bill Murray. It was ok, I guess. It was probably even more loosely based on reality than "Fear And Loathing". I mean at one point he sprays who I believe was supposed to have been Nixon in the face with a fire extinguisher. Come on, now.
Bill Murray does a DEAD ON impression of HST in this movie, though. His impression was more accurate than Johnny Depp's. He had me thinking that Hunter had overdubbed vocals at first.

I watched this not 2 weeks ago.....better then Depp if you ask me....because he was actually a really good friend of Hunter's. That's why he sounds exactly like him if you ask me, Hunter liked to bitch about the way people spoke...he probably gave him lessons.
Crazy fucking plot but I love it more then the Las Vegas movie.
That hospital scene is fucking hilarious, that dancing is what I picture Hunter doing in real life

It's cool when their playing football in the hotel room and he's got the IV of wild turkey. Classic.

I had no idea. Are you sure? The impression was extremely accurate.

Yeah, I am 100% positive. He was a really good friend with Hunter.
Hunter yelled at people about how to speak. He would tell them to slow it down speed it up. How to enunciate properly, stuff like that. He did it ALOT when people read his works..I guess because he knew the proper way to read them So, that's why I bet he gave Murray lessons.

He's the last person I'd take enunciation lessons from unless I was playing the part of Hunter himself. He mumbles everything he says.

You would think that, it's true though. It's in alot of the articles written about him. I am very suprised you haven't read that before....It says it in the new High Times with him in it I believe. I know something was wrote about it in the Rolling Stones Tribute to him.
Good thread Leary , I can't believe no one else really liked this movie

I didn't read most of that issue. I don't like to read anymore for some reason. What I read was cool, though.

Apparently Bill Murray turned into an asshole for a while after hanging out with Thompson. The whole shtick kinda rubbed off on him.
That movie is based on stuff from a few different books.

Is that right? How do you know that about Bill Murray. I could believe it, but I'm curious as to who said it.
Yeah, that movie was a little bit of The Great Shark Hunt, Fear And Loathing On The Campain Trail and some others I can't put my finger on. I would like to see a Hell's Angels film.

I am pretty sure he said it, talking about how much of a dick he was on SNL because of it...that's what it was. Now, if I could just remember where I saw this at....Im still saying Criterion extras. He was REALLY into the character, as in people called him Hunter..

I liked that movie too. Bill Murray did a great job! Of course, the unedited version is the one best to see. I saw it a few months ago on a regular cable channel, and they cut out ALL the drugs references. They ruined it, totally...

Let's give Peter Boyle some credit here too! I thought he was hilarious as the drug-crazed attorney!

It was some SNL alumnus who said it in an interview. I'll look around.
