 Couple of Q's... need help

Im new to growing shrooms (ex weed grower) and have a few questions that havent been answered in faqs.
1. Would I be able to use a organic potting soil w/ vermiculite as a growing median as long as I steralized it.... or do I really have to stick to vermiculite/brown rice ?
2. How often do u water the shrooms or do u? And if u do water, would u water only when the shrooms appears or right after ur spores are injected?
3. Do shrooms need sunlight? If so, how much?
4. Do you keep ur growing area (jar) sealed during growth or do u leave the jar open?
5. I see mushrooms growing around my house and in the wild all the time, how do I know if they are magic mushrooms? (I live in Alberta if that helps) Also would it be poisonous for me to try these mushrooms?

Suggest you read the FAQ, then ask questions, after you have a basic understanding of even - what to ask.
Otherwise, folks will razz you for asking Q's that have been answered 40,654,987 times.

How old are you? About 9? Are you old enough to read, if so, I would suggest doing some. All those answers are in FAQs somewhere.

i wouldnt eat any of those mushrooms that you find around your house with out posting on the hunters forum to find out what it is from some of the Sr. members.

1. no
and no you don't have to stick to just using brf/verm...you can move on to grains.
2. we don't water our shrooms...we dunk them.
and we have a moist casing layer that helps them get moisture.
3. yes they need sun light...sun light is one of the triggers for starting pinning.
12 hours on and 12 off...works for me during fruiting.
4. you keep the jar sealed during colonization.
5. you probably don't have many types of magic mushrooms growing in the Alberta area...
but you can go look around in the Mushroom Hunting forum and maybe ask them nicely if there are any species that grow in your area.
please do some reading!~

Damn, Bro, I was just getting ready to say that. I was a newb once but never asked questions like that,lol. I guess the part that got me was the I searched already. I myself have never used the FAQ. Thats because I read all the TEK's here. At the Nook. All over and then just read this message board for a month or so before I started. Just wanted to mention that you don't need much like for mushies...Said you grew...plants...Just remeber...Mushrooms aren't plants...they're a fungus..Phototropic..
