How to deal with pearlite keeping terr. too humid?
    #429479 - 10/18/01 03:21 PM (23 years, 4 months ago)

Hello to all...

I'm using pearlite in my terrarium, and it's doing a wonderful job keeping my pie tins moist during the pinning stage. However, soon, it will be time for fruiting, and the humidity will need to be lower (89-92%). How can I accomplish this if my pearlite is so wet?

Thanks,
EP

You can add an aquarium air pump. You can leave the terrarium lid askew. You can remove the perlite.

or hand fan more, or use slightly drier perlite (dont leave it in standing water)

Keeping moist perlite in open jars or small containers inside the chamber will allow you to remove them cleanly and easily when the time comes.
