Street Fighter II Apperiation Thread

Just moved into a new place, and my TV only has the shitty RF input, meaning I can only hook up my NES & SNES. No biggie, I'm just going on an old skool binge.
Anyway, for those who played, what charectors did you use?
Me? I loved Cammy & Guile, although I grew tired of him. Vega is always fun.
One thing's for sure, there were far too many versions of this game. I currently have "Super Street Fighter II" for SNES. I don't know which one is supposed to be the best.
-------------------- The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

Super Street Fighter II is the best one out of the whole series in my opinion, stick with it. I like a lot of characters: Blanka, Ryu, Guile and Vega especially.
My sister always played as Chun Li and never let me play as Dhalsim because "he wasn't fair."

I remember going crazy for Dhalism at first because of his streching moves, but once you realize how slow he is, it wears off. Still, he's fun to play with.
Zangief used to be cool also because of all the wrestling moves he does, especially the spining pile driver. Again, he's slow.
The biggest challenge was to see if you could hit Vega enough times to make his claw fall off. It wasn't easy, but it was rewarding somehow. You basically have to bitch slap him a lot.

I could never figure out and rememebr Zangief's moves. I really loved just using Ryu and Hurricane Kicking and dragon punching people.I'd love to have an SNES again.

I always thought Sagat was under appreciated, that tiger knee was deadly!

Sagat is awesome, I'm actually fighting against him right now. The computer is really cheap with him, just using projectiles & tiger uppercuts.

I never liked Ken, although I was a big Ryu fan. He just rubbed me the wrong way.

Ken was a California punkass.

FINALLY beat Sagat, damn, that took too long. M. Bison time (using Fei Long).
My local videogame/hobbyshop store wants $10 for a used copy of Super Mario World. How fucked up is that? $10 for the most popular and common SNES game. That's one thing I hate about the retro videogame fad, it's driven up the prices for these things.

Street Fighter II is cool, i still remember playing Street Fighter I at the arcades... Anyway, for a real 2D ass kicking "The King of Fighters" series is much better, graphically and technically, besides i am a master with many characters

I always liked going for dhalsim because of the stretch. But Bison was k3y in multiplayer. They trick was to do his spinning flying move repeatedly back and forth. The other player cant do anything at all. MUAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry, unfortunetly most of the ROM sites seem to have gone under. Bittorrent seems to be the best place these days, although if you go that route, you'll normally find yourself downloading hundreds or thousands of games in one go, which isn't convenient if you're looking for specific games. I downloaded the entire known set of SNES ROMs a couple of years ago via this method and burned the entire 3GB to a DVD.

Street Fighter > Mortal Kombat
I have Street Fighter II: Champion Edition for Sega Genesis. My favorite was always E. Honda because he's fat, wears a diaper, and his moves were easy. I loved that 1000 hand slap.

Ryu, always Ryu. I liked Vega too, but I hate those charge up moves. Then when Alpha came out I thought Akuma was cool for a while but he's just a slower Ryu so I played as Ryu again, Ken can be cool too though because he gets the flaming dragon punch.
