WBS/Verm.

Always ends up a bit to wet :shrug:

But I wanted to ask something else...:grin:

Is a 5:1 ratio good for verm/wbs?

Say 5 pints of WBS to One pint of VERM.

20%verm/80%WBS is what i'm looking at.

Anyone think I should add more or less?

I'll be loading the jars in 20 mintues...Letting em' sit right now :smirk:

About there...maybe less...I like to mix it while its straining, dry...until you get the right texture. The grains should look pretty dry on the outside...just slowly add verm and you can tell when the verm isnt soaking up much moisture anymore.

scatmanrav, your trays look like grain mostly. Do you use grain or manure more often?

I also find that adding vermiculite helps WBS moisture. It acts like a moisture buffer of sorts. If things get dry, vermiculite releases water. If there's too much, vermiculite soaks it up. Without it things can work out fine, but it makes whole grain mixes more forgiving.
