Famous People and Acid/Mush
    #4292459 - 06/13/05 07:40 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

So we know that Dock Ellis pitched a no-hitter while on LSD. And it seem that Francis Crick was under the influence of LSD when he first surmised that DNA had a double helix structure. And Daryl Hannah recently came out saying she was all about mushrooms.

Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, loves the mushies.

Cary Grant did LSD in therapy sessions.

Anyone have any links to other interesting celebrity/athletic stories about using psychedelics? No rock stars please..that's just fuckin obvious!

Got any links to the Bill Gates info?

Though of course! Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Bill Gates were all big potheads and dosers when they invented the original Apple OS.

Moby's a :bitch:.

Here's some fun ones from Wikipedia I wouldn't have expected:

Michel Foucault!
William Gibson
Philip Glass -    Of course. :smirk:
Steve Jobs of Apple Computer describes taking LSD as "one of the two or three most important things he has done in his life" in John Markoff's 2005 book, What the Dormouse Said; also in an interview in Time Magazine
William H. Macy
Groucho Marx
JEAN-PAUL SARTRE!

That's great.

All of those.

Great.

PLAYBOY: Ever take LSD?

GATES: My errant youth ended a long time ago.

PLAYBOY: What does that mean?

GATES: That means there were things I did under the age of 25 that I ended up not doing subsequently.

PLAYBOY: One LSD story involved you staring at a table and thinking the corner was going to plunge into your eye.

GATES: [Smiles]

PLAYBOY: Ah, a glimmer of recognition.

GATES: That was on the other side of that boundary. The young mind can deal with certain kinds of gooping around that I don't think at this age I could. I don't think you're as capable of handling lack of sleep or whatever challenges you throw at your body as you get older. However, I never missed a day of work

joe rogan from fear factor has talked openly on opie and anthony a couple of times about his use of shrooms and dmt. he recounted an experience with doug stanhope(the guy he did the man show with) and him doing dmt together. rogan practically endorsed dmt....like almost suggesting everyone do it.
