Growing E Coca?
    #4290885 - 06/13/05 01:11 PM (15 years, 10 months ago)

Can anyone offer any information on growing such a plant. My cat recently aquired 20 fresh seeds, still in the berries. Heres a pic, sorry for terrible quality.

very sorry.. E-coca is almost a no go in our climate.

rarley propigated by seeds... E coca mainly is propigated by cutting.

seeds lose most if not all viabuility after about 10 days from falling.

IF you get a seedling to arise.. it mst liky will wither in month.

bad news i'm afraid. Novo is more climate adaptable.

Aye thats a damn shame. I have a friend who has a well established one, I`ll ask him what he did.

And the seeds are already planted. I did a quick sink/float viablility test, and all but 3 sank. So we`ll see what happens.

I believe you are thinking E.Coca var. Ipuda. I have seeds of E. Coca var Coca, which from what I hear is near impossible to propagate vegatively, and seeds are almost always used.

I`m sure I remember reading this somewhere, I`ll see if I can find the source to back this up.

The guy's site sells the seeds with a 10-21 international shipping time. Don't they have to be planted in 9-10 days? Wow, what a waste of 50 bucks.

I'm interested in the novos myself. When the seeds are sent they are sent in wet moss to keep them moist. It appears a lot of them start to sprout in transit.
