for those of us who like to think about the bigger picture on mushrooms(low doses) i highly recommend I  Huckabees. it gets your brain going in ways you never thought possible! but may not be for everyone. i enjoy philosophical questions and meanings but some may not like to think that Way... or don't have the mental capacity. well watch this movie and i know all of you at the shroomery will be hooked! its a shroomers heaven of a movie..........

Yeah, I liked it too... definitely a good flick.

I have the feeling most anyone who doesn't like it will feel that way because of the strange style. I felt more like I was watching a play than a movie for the first 15 minutes... then I got used to the style, and it was no longer an issue.

During my last acid trip, during the comedown, I went to bed with my girlfriend. In the other room, my friends watched that movie and said it was one of the best tripping experiences of their lives.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

its not as much about philosophical questions as it is about the presentation of philosophical ideas and your acceptance and integration in your enviroment. i thought it was great.

my friend has seen that and he recommended it to me. Said it was pretty trippy. I haven't seen it yet, but I want to. I also want to see "what the bleep do we know" so I can understand what everyone is talking about when they argue whether it sucks or is good

What the bleep do we know? is made by a group of new age goofballs and is great if you're into feel-good, religious nonsense. They interview a handful of actual physicists and whatnot, then heavily edited the interviews so that it looks like they support their religious beliefs. More cult propaganda than intelligent movie.

I think Huckabees was a bit overrated as well. It's not all BS like What the Bleep, but it thinks it's a lot smarter than it actually is.

PLEASE

just let this thread end. The movie sucked ass. It was a pointless waste of time. I'd much rather watch a national geographic documentary.

Doesn't it seem like there are so many movies made especially for all us psychonauts. Trippy movies have been around since the acid wave. I'm glad they continue to think of us trippers when it comes to making movies. We enjoy them more than they know, then again they were flying high when they made them so they understand completely.

Yes, folks, that's right. If anything is even remotely bizarre, or addresses philosophical issues, it was made exclusively for people high on drugs, by people high on drugs.

Weirdness wasn't invented until they came up with LSD.

I heart huckabees-

great movie for the pretentious pseudo-intellectual bohemian crowd.

-that's what i hate, how people discredit the movie with the argument that it's all pretentious bullshit for elite-ist yuppy intellectual wannabes. I think if you go into the movie believing that, it'll taint the experience.

I love the movie it has a very happy vibe through-out and was just plain funny. - and i think people think the movie takes itself more seriously than it really does, it's just a bit of fun. It seems they not only discuss different philosophies but also take the piss in a light hearted way.

I especially liked the discussion at the dinner table, with the two left-wing pinkos and the conservative family that adopted the african guy so they can feel better about themselves

and the part where they smack themselves with the ball to experience that whole 'empty nothingness thing'

I have to add i love the music too. - haven't seen it for a while but heard the main 'theme song' on the radio the other day... Great!

This seems fairly interesting. I remember thinking this movie would just be...another movie. Sounds like it actually has some substance though.
