jars after 9 days
    #4287880 - 06/12/05 05:03 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Hey everyone. 9 days ago I inoculated 12 jars with spore syringes I bought online. Based on your experience, how much growth should be apparent after this length of time? Where the water ran down the side of the jars, It is kind of grey. Not like mold, just like it has mixed with the BRF. In some parts of it there is tiny tiny white dots. Could this be the mycelium starting to grow? From a foot away you can't see any growth whatsoever, you have to look close-up at it. All the jars are like this..

Your incubation temps dont sound like there right on. I had trouble with some of mine because i tried to incubate at 75. It took two weeks before i say anything, and when it did come it was not a nice white fluffy mass, more like a light whiteish color. Everything worked out in the end though. They fruited.

They hover around 77-80 degree Fareinheit (sp?). This is a good temperature I have read.

You should incubate around 80-86 degrees. That is optimal.

The conditions/strain/etc. all make a difference on the amount of growth you should be seeing now...so there's no way to tell you how much you should be seeing. Sometimes it can take up to two weeks to see growth, sometimes it only takes 48 hours. Just depends on temp/humidity/substrate material/how airy the subrate is/mushroom strain, etc.

6 of the jars are Tapalpa, and 6 are GT. They seem to be growing at the same rate (if it IS mycelium that is growing)

up the temps to around 86. always have had jars done in like 15 to 17 days at those temps with a multispore innoc.
tek is pf, yes? what ratio did you use to mix them up?
2:1:1 verm:brf:water.
man those tapalpa (mexis) colonized very fast for me. the gt's were a bit slower for me.
peace

To help bring the temps up and stabilize them,

Do a search for PMP, or Poor Mans Pod,

OR the Heat Bomb,

OR you could also use a heating blanket.

Good luck

I mixed it all together in a big pot :frown:  I know per jar would do the exact measurements, but doing it bulk seemed like it would equal out the same anyway. I'll let these go a few more days before I start over again, I used 2 syringes on them and only have 1 left!

Where did you get your syringes from?
