I've read a bit about bluing now and again, and I'm wondering exactly what it is.. does it have something to do with the psilocybin in the mushroom? I just picked one of my PES amazonians today and put a small cut in it with a fingernail.. it turned quite blue in a matter of seconds. This is a good thing, yes?

You have been taught wrong my friend. Blue means bad. I will take them off your hands, and dispose of them properly.

The bluing reaction is caused by the oxidation of certain inole alkaloids, namely psylocin.

Har har.. I know it's probably a good thing, but I'm not sure exactly *why*.. heh. How blue should it be? And will my shroom be O.K., now that it has a gash in it?

Thanks in advance.
