Warm Weather Blues...

Well, my PF cakes have been in the fruiting chamber for a couple days, and now I have a very serious obstacle standing between me, and a good flush.  Recently, local temps have been very high (feels high 80, low 90 Fahrenheit.)  I thought an 18 hour dunk would cold shock the cakes enough that I'd avoid problems, but it hasn't worked like I pictured it in my head.   The cakes seem to have ignored any signal that it's time to initiate fruiting, and now I have a fuzzy myc growing on my cakes instead of those pretty pretty pins I want to see.

Does anyone know of a solution short of shelling out a few hundred for an air conditioner, or do I just have to wait till the heat wave breaks?

The fuzz is OK. Mine did the same thing and pinned just fine, I think that it's pretty normal. Just have patience.

GL and enjoys the fruits in a few days!

Thanks man, appreicate it.

The nice guy on the teevee just said that the heat wave will break after tomorrow. It wouldn't be the first time he's wrong if he is, but hell, we all just have to keep hoping for the little miracles don't we?

well im kindof in the same situation... living in AZ it tends to get hot so i just stick a frozen waterbottle next to my jars and change it once it melts. keeps the temps down a couple degrees great for my little stealth grow.

That sounds like a neat idea. Tried it this afternoon with an icepack, and seemed to work for a little while.  Till the weather totally pwned the icepack anyway.  :laser:

Gonna try to get a thermometer/hygrometer in tonight to get more accurate data.  REALLY hope the ice-bottle thing works.
