Recently we grew some Tampanensis mushrooms from a grow kit. The shrooms themselves are small but abundant and look like thicker liberty caps. According to the instructions you can grow mushrooms then stick the kit in a cupboard and maybe after 10 weeks you'll get truffles too.
So far we've had 2 good flushes totalling about 60g of fresh which looks like a lot of mushrooms.
The problem is we're not sure how many to eat - eating 30g of these seems like quite a lot!
So really our question is - do they have the same p. content as the larger varieties (so 30g would be an average dose) or should we be looking at eating say 30-50 shrooms (which would be a good fun dose of Liberty caps for us).
We're looking for level 3 on these, and just for comparison of our constitution 35g of phillipines usually send us to level 4.
And finally - does anyoneknow what the %age loss of potency is when dried?
15-20 grams fresh is plenty to have a strong level 3 trip on tampanensis. 30 grams really is a lot, so be careful with those! God they taste bad. They're easily the worst tasting shrooms I've ever eaten, and you can't get the nasty taste out of your mouth. have plenty of juice around for that dose to cover the yucky taste. I'm not sure about the ratio for dry weight on those, but I'd say you're better off just eating them fresh.
