libcaps: what are my chances
    #428544 - 10/17/01 03:23 PM (22 years, 11 months ago)

I live about 100 miles from the pacific coast and two of my neighbors have cow pastures. It's been rainy lately and I want to try finding liberty caps, but before I trespass, what are my chances of even finding them? This is by Portland, Oregon by the way.

Thanks in advance

Probaly pretty good right now, also check wood chips for Ps. Cyans and stuntziis. Be very careful about ID thou, you dont want to get any Galernias. Try going to the grow/find section of the shroomery.

Peace out,

Liberty caps might inhabitat those fields. If the humidity and temps are right then they would most likely be there. 100 miles off shore tho hurts the humidity quiet a bit so you will need a good amount of rainfall, but they should be there. Now finding a liberty cap in a cowfield is another story, it takes a bit of a trained eye and some serious hunting technique. By technique i mean how much you mind crawling around in the grass, if you dont mind that then you technique is good and you will find some libs eventually. My liberty cap hunting spirit is a little low as they dont seem to be fruiting very well this year.

I too live about 100 miles from the coast and have two neighbors with cow pastures. There are also a few other neighbors with cow pastures, and we have a horse pasture. I'm in oregon city.
