honey water

my friend the kangaroo is having one hell of a time with honey water jars. He has been PCing 1/2 pint jars with about 3/4 a teaspoon of honey each for 30 mins at 15 PSI, and can't manage to get one that isn't contaminted. He's starting to lose hope and become frustrated. And if the jar doesn't end up being contaminated, the sugars are carmelized. Yay.

Any possible solutions to Pouches's problem?

I recently did this for the first time and here is what I did. I boiled my water first turned off the heat poured it into my 1/2 pint jar then stirred in a teaspoon of honey. I covered it
and put it in a closet, agitating the jar twice a day. It took about
6-8 days before I had a decent amount of mycillium in it. I washed all of my ustensils, jars, pots, lids in water w/ lysol in it before I boiled any water. This may help.

although i just found that microwaving substrate in jars is not 100% reliable, you can mic honeywater till its boiling pretty hard in a 1/2 pint or pint jar. once its good and bubbling wipe your lid (with no holes) with alcohol, let it evaporate and open your mic door and cap it off steaming hot. let it cool off and you will have a hella time trying to pry that lid off of there, should be sucked on there pretty good but its all sterile in there. drop in some spores or a 1CC of your syringe and shake it up. it wont be long now...
