Black spored Pan Foe??
    #4282100 - 06/11/05 01:32 AM (11 years, 8 months ago)

I picked a bunch of what look identical to pan foes, I layed them out to do a spore print. The prints came out jet black. Can these be anything but pan foes?? Are there any look alikes? I know pan foes aren't active, I just picked them and did a spore print to check it out, before I mowed my lawn.

It looks exactly like a foe. Don't pan subs have thicker stems? I live on swampland, would that make a difference?

There are also other kind of panaeolus mushrooms, but you can see how pan sub looks can vary a lil, kinda like cubes do.

Panaeolina foenisecii has chocolate brown spore prints. there are four species of Panaeolina and none are psychoactive.

There are appoximately 29 species of Panaeolus and about 8-11 are susup[ected as psychaoactive.

For example. Panaeolus microspora in situ in its natural habitat has no psilocine or psilocybine whatsoever.

However, in vitro cultivation of the same species has produced psilocine/psilocine in mycelia and fruitin pinners.

Panaeolus africanus is psychoactige and the most common of the Panaeolus with consistant chemical compounds is Panaeolus subbalteatus. Check the Shromeries Ultivate Shroom guide to Panaeolus int he species ID section of the guide or go to my Shroomster Enterprises Mushroom Jpohn's Shroom World at:

http://www.mushroomjohn.com/species.htm

and click on Panaeolus subbalteatus. eautiful perfect images by Angry Shroom of california and by Gumby of Georgia

Are there any deadly poisonous panaeolus? When I search panaeolus, the only "poisonous" mushrooms that come up are actives.
