Kindly critique this setup (pictars!)

I've had a lot of trouble fruiting these casings, and I think the air exchange was basically no good before. Consequently, I grabbed a cool mist humidifier and some fat aquarium tubing and went to work:

I'm going to hit a tobacco shop tomorrow and try to come up with a decent hygrometer, as I really have no idea what the humidity is like in there. The air coming out of the cool mist really doesn't feel very moist to me... 9 feet of hose too much? How does this look?

Get some perlite in there and you could probly use the coolmist for a bigger project

that setup works great... a timer and some aquarium air pumps could totally automate it

At the moment I have no bigger project, and it is my understanding that perlite actually provides too much humidity for casings.
Edit: since the tub isn't fogging up I'm currently just leaving the cool mist on all the time. As it happens I have an aquarium air pump handy - what would I do with it, though?

I hope this isn't the case. AFOAF is doing it just this way. I think those are even the same tubs!

an air pump for fresh air exchange... how sophisticated you want to be with a filter is up to you. There are instructions for a hepa box, or just run the tubing into your pod
edit: a cool mist might be enough air exchange for you so you could maybe get by without the air pump
