pure oxygen is poisonous and would mostly likely kill your shrooms.

I recommend full sprectrum light.

pure oxygen is dangerous if you dont know what our doing the light your looking for is high in the blue spectrum 6500k

I have been thinking of trying somthing like this myself. It is easy to obtain pure oxygen through electrolysis (splitting a water molecule into O2 and H). I am curious as to what the effects are myself.

I know that pure oxygen or any oxygen for that matter can kill some organisms is true mainly for anaerobes, but there are other organisms that need oxygen to live they are called aerobes. Since mycellium needs O2 then it is most likely a aerobe, so the question is: Is more oxygen better, and if so what will it do? The answer is I don't know.

I have seached the internet time and time again and have not found anything that that says high levels of O2 are better than the 20% levels found in air.

As for the dangers of using pure oxygen. Pure oxygen does not burn, but is supports combustion wich means it will make thing burn faster and hotter that the would normally do in regular air. It will also make things that do not normally burn in air burn under high concentrations of oxygen. It will also make thing like hyrdocarbons spotaniously combust. This makes any experiment very dangerous.

I personally think that pure oxygen will kill mycellium by oxidizing all of the protines, DNA, and trace metals in the organism, but I think that slightly higher levels of oxgen, more than the 20% found in air might have a positive effect on growth. Just my opinion.

You can go to these things that are like chillin rooms or something and you buy pure oxygen. Supposedly it makes you feel happier and more refreshed. If you watch Blind Date then you know I'm talking about ;)

pure oxygen is NOT flammable. BUT since oxigen is required for oxidation precesses(=burning if at high temperatures and speed) oxigen helps substances burn. And high levels of oxigen do this especialy good.
