Still Need help with ID NICE pics !!! .. north georgia

Found about 7 of these mushrooms growing in a ring around a log , Look similar to the Reishi as they have a reddish brown almost like candy coating on the stem about 75% of the way fading to white solid mushroom no gills young ones are similar to the shape of a club persay , as the older ones grow into reishi looking mushrooms except the caps of them are white , other ones i found are these cubensis color mushrooms , medium stalk has ring , stalk is a brownish milky color no blue bruising , like milk chocolate brown colored gills not attached , pics soon roughly an hour from now :eek:

Lucky Bastard :wink:. I live in North Georgia, too, gwinnett county, and I couldn't find a thing when i went hunting today. glad to know somebody's finding them. :smile:

Ok here are the pictures of the mushrooms ive found , fungal life picking up around here =P im north of atl , by now i seem to be noticing a slightly dark / blu-ish / greenish bruising on the caps that were handled , took spore print and i can verify it is a Darkish brown purple

Those aren't cubensis. But, your right, the others do look like Ganoderma of some sort.

The first 5 pics look a lot like Psathyrella velutina, a pretty common mushroom.

Yeah i know they arent cubensis wrong substrate , they are growing in redclay topped with pine straw on the edge of the woods , in the shade you could say , but id like to get a positive id on them if they could possibly be active there is an enormous patch of them im talking 50 + i lifted the pinestraw off and there was a giant Mycelium system underneath spreading like wildfire lol , id also like to get an id on the Other ones i find them intriging lol im hoping to maybee find some actives this summer ALSO they spore print is much darker now i thru the shroom back on paper and its more of a blackish purple on the first set of mushrooms
