Will not stop forming new pins
    #4278920 - 06/10/05 08:43 AM (11 years, 8 months ago)

Ok my friend is worried because the cake he has will not stop pinning even though it already has some decent shrooms on the cake. Is this bad? I thought that one flush produces at the same time or is it continious growth and once some mature you go ahead and pick all of the pins plus the mushrooms then dunk. I dont know he might just be jumping the gun and should just wait and see what happens.

yeah just go picking out the adult,or betteryet cut the stem right at the base,
yes your cake will keep producing till the myc has no more food to eat.

And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground (16: 14). And when the children of Israel saw if, they said one to another It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

Thanks

I understand that they will keep on growing till the food is dead, but i just thought it happened in flushes, like all the material i have read says happens. I hope it does not over produce pins and suck the all of the nutrients out the first time. I am using a pint wbs mixture.

my rule of thumb with cakes...

pick everything off the cake...within 24 to 48 hours of picking the first mushroom.

then dunk the cake...

then start a 2nd flush.
