    #4278108 - 06/09/05 11:05 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

it has very little sunflower seeds and wheat compared to the milo and millet.
does this seem like a good mixture?

extinguishment, your mix is fine. Most birdseed mixes will work fine. I recommend the cheapest highest-turnover one you can find. Go to a place where they really sell the stuff, so it'll be fresh. Keep the sunflower seeds in. They will increase yields with their great delayed nutrient release.

yeah!~

a couple years ago my friend pleezr and I were getting a good deal on large bags of millet.

the stuff is awsome...I like the way it breaks up so nice after colonization.
you get more inoculation points with the millet when you spawn it to a bulk substrate.

I prefer millet over any other grain.

even over rye? have you ever tried using buckwheat? it has a much higher tryptophan content than all other grains, if that means anything.

oh, i bring the buckwheat up cause i went to wholefoods and got 6 diff grains including a few supergrains, simmered then for an couple hours, and saw the results. all the grains turned into mush except for the buckwheat, which held the consistentcy of WBS and other hard grains. im not sure if what i got had been hulled or not, all i remember it saying was that it was unrefined or something like that, whereas all the other grains had been refined, even the millet i bought which also turned into mush. well, hulled seems to mean that the grain will become mush is simmered.
