Outdoor Patch - Let spores drop or not?

After the second flush (which wasn't nearly as large as I had hoped for) of my last grow, I buried the remains of my casing in a patch in my backyard and covered with potting soil. I used GT on rye grain, and I've had several fully matured fruits in my backyard patch. If I let some of these drop their spores, will it help the patch spread and increase my overall yield, or will it end the growth cycle and squander a great patch. I've already harvested a few mature fruits before they dropped their spores, but the next few should be sporulating in two or three days. Can anyone offer some advice on a healthy outdoor patch? Thanks.

Let them drop. Will not help your patch but might start new ones. GL

I'm somewhere in Appalachia, and the weather is summery. Highs in the 80s and 90s with relatively high humidity. It's been raining one to two times a week for about the last three weeks.

I'm not sure I understand your post KaptKid. If I'm still getting pins from this patch, should I wait to let them sporulate until the first patch is winding down?

All I was saying is let nature carry on.You will have to decide the best time.If spores drop like they do indoors, this would be bad for the bed.Would be cool to introduce a new strain to the out doors were you live. GL
