I just started a growing project for the first time and ordered a hydrapod and spore syringe from myco-tek.com The syringe I ordered was Pan. Cyan. and I didn't know that the growing method was different for these, and I used the tek method on www.erowid.org with brown rice flour and vermiculite. It's too early (2 days since inoculation) to see if it is producing anything, but do you guys have any recommendations for tending to these from this point?

You will be fine, but as panaeolus species, generally speaking, are dung-loving, you will want to case with manure. If you don't know how to case (as I am sure you don't), now is a good of time as ever to learn. Read up on casing and make sure you have the idea down good. Read ralph's pan cyan tek and follow his directions (past the substrate preparation part) and you will be fine. The use of bird seed is reccomended but not required.

I second that! Ralphster44 tek is the way to go. I started to use it after being a devoted fan to brown rice and a few others. I will never use anything else again but this tek...maybe I can tweak it up alittle after some time with this tek. This is all just a dream though...
Good Luck

I looked through Ralph?s tek and I was wondering if it will be feasible to use my hydra-pod in growing these and if so, how would I go about doing it?
For instance, should I use a separate large plastic tray to start growing, then somehow transfer part of it to a smaller container which could be kept in the hydra-pod? Or maybe use a smaller ratio of ingredients with a small enough tray to fit in the hydra-pod. Suggestions?

you could always try dung cakes, just not sure how well they would hold up in the hydrapod as shit tends to suck up water and get runny

Actually, you don't want to case with manure or anything else nutritious.
