so im trying out a phaseII bulk pasteurization for the cultivation of ports... i found some super awesome leached cow manure that was steaming when i got it.. loaded it up and blasted the room with a high btu propane heater used for construction sites.... it got up to temp in the first day.. i held it at 135 for a bit over 4 hours.. couldnt get it up to 140 with the heater i had rented... after it got up i just turned the heater off and introduced fresh air as little as i could to keep positive pressure in the room.. i returned the heater the next day as i was trying not to use it too much, cost effective and all...... the substrate began dropping temperature immedietly...
so my question is...... will the ammonia dissipate even though temps are not staying in the required 120-125 range? the substrate isnt loaded very deeply as this was my first try and i wanted to have enough spawn to go around.. maybe its 6" or so.. the temp dropped to around 80 by the end of the next day and its at like 75 now on day three... i have a smaller electric heater i was going to use for the rest of the process that i just threw in there to heat it up a little...
if anyone has any experience with phase II rooms i'd love a bit of advice.. thanks guys peace
