that's it keep voting republican
    #4274258 - 06/08/05 11:27 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

just because you cling to some beliefs about maybe $50 a year you are getting to keep in tax money, keep letting this party use FAR RIGHT religous zealots to stay in office. i mean dont not vote repoop to send a message or maybe kill off these crazies for more socially liberal repoops in the primaries....your gonna keep getting laws like this one :

HR 1528 is now pending in Congress. It has passed one committee and is apparently sailing through another one. This was a keystone law used by Stalinist Russia to control it's people and it appears to be sailing through our republican congress.
If this law is passed it will force you to inform on your family, friends, or neighbors if you have any knowedge of their involvement in any kind of drug activity that is connected in any way to persons under the age of majority.

If you see a joint being passed to a college student, you MUST immediately inform the police.

If your child has a substance abuse problem and begs someone else to acquire drugs, you cannot deal with this as a family matter, or in a drug treatment setting. You MUST inform on the both of them or risk a fine and jail time.

If your sister, who has kids, mentions that she bought some pot to share with her husband, you MUST inform on your sister or risk a fine and jail time.

If you do not inform you can be sentenced to prison for between 2 and 10 years.

Sec. 425. [a] It shall be unlawful for any person who witnesses or learns of a violation of sections 416[2], 417, 418, 419 420, 424, or 426 to fail to report the offense to law enforcement officials within 24 hours of witnessing or learning of the violation and thereafter provide full assistance in the investigation, apprehension, and prosecution of the erson violating paragraph [a].

A short version of SEC.2 [2] If you, a parent, discovers that your child manufactures, distributes, stores or uses any controlled substance andand you do not report it you shall be fined not more than 8,000,000 and imprisoned not less than ten years or more than life

GO REPUBLICANS!! scumbags  :mad2:

Ya.  One Republican who introduced the bill represents the whole party.  And of course no Democrat would vote for such a bill, right?

Funny, I didn't see the word "democrat" mentioned once in this thread, until you wrote it.

"don't vote republican" != "vote democrat"

Manditory two year minimum prison if you fail to report what you witness, if I remember what I read of the bill correctly.

You are also required to help the police in drug related cases, or you go to jail. This means the police can force you to wear a wire and place your life in danger or you go to jail.

When interpreting the law, one criteria the Supreme Court will use is "plain meaning." Such is the way that I interpreted KOTT's post.

"Defending America's Most Vulnerable: Safe Access to Drug Treatment and Child Protection Act of 2005"

Child Protection!? Please. Yet another instance of taking advantage of the "innocence of children" theme, so prevelant in the government and media circus. This bill is so completely ridiculous I don't know whether to laugh or be pissed off. I can't help but think of the incompetent representatives we have in office who'll be voting for this, and the people who put them there. The plush prison of authoritarianism is constructed with garbage like this. All I can think of is the American masses wallowing in their own ignorance, oblivious to the consequences of this bill, and for most, oblivious to its very existence.

So be it. Karma's a bitch.

Have any of you written or called your Congressman and told them that you don't support the bill and that you will not support them if they support this bill?  Or have you just bitched about here where I'm sure the people making the important decisions in this country are hanging out  :blah:

This is just a case of some congressman with an ultra-right-wing constituency who's in trouble in the polls, and is trying to look good for them. It ain't gonna pass.

This law is stupid though. It's 100% NOT enforcable. They could pass this law and make it a mandatory life sentence and I still wouldn't be afraid. How are the police going to know if I don't tell them I saw a joint being passed? It's rediculous.

WTF is this 'family values' republican trash.

Thats right because inviting the goverenment to fuck up the lives of you're family is some good morals there.

What if it was the Nazi government, or the Russian Commies. Would that be more or less morally correct?

I seriously hope this country recovers from the conservative backlash that is allowing this sort of drivel to even be considered. It must be nice to have a war to point to for distraction.

Why are you against drug use? Are you a TERRORIST!?!?

Not be overdramatic, but this reminds me of 1984, with the kids ratting out their own parents, etc.

So if passed this could mean, that if you get nailed for possession...........you either HAVE to rat out who gave it to you or serve two years in prison. If that does pass I speculate less dealers and mad price hikes. I cannot believe what bush has done to this country.

I telemarket for the republican party, and it is RIDCULOUS to hear some of the shit people say. People are so brainwashed by his christianity bs that the think anything but republican is against " god " . What the fuck ever happened to seperation of church and state. I'm packing up and going north.

P.s: I in no way support the republicans by the way, a paycheck is a paycheck to me.

i dont think either of those guys were bush voters...i think they voted badarnick ..not sure though...i dont have a problem with libertarians, while our opinions differ fiscally, they have some good ideas. my problem is with anyone who would support georgewbush and the insane religous right. basically im willing to debate with conservatives but think neo-cons are evil psychotic people hell-bent on enslaving the population and turning us into a theocracy. the bible thumping makes me fucking sick. i mean you have no idea how angry i get about it.... grrrrrrrrrr neo-cons are tyring to become big brother, right out of the 1984 book. they want to edit our science books. soon they'll be trying to edit history books. they want national id cards, the patriot act. homeland security who is spying on citizens of our country. they spy on anti-war groups, peta (PETA FOR GODS SAKE) , enviro groups....they are using sept11th as a catalyst to control everything. as much as i hate conspiracy theories, and the yahoos who buy into it, im suspicious of sept 11, it really really helped the neocons push their agenda.... i hate the sheep in this country. /end crazy rant
