where did you get/ How much did you pay for your humidity gage?

I recently picked up a cheap humidity gage/thermometer at ace hardware for like $9. The thing is a total piece of shit, i know i should've checked em out closer before buying but i wanted to get out of there fast so i just grabbed the cheap one, my bad. For the humidity the number go from 20 to 60 and there are only 2 dashes after 60 to represent 70 and 80. I'm using the wet perlite method to humidify my fruiting chamber and the gage only reads around 70, i know this isn't accurate, the thing is just a piece of shit. I was wondering if anyone out there has an acurate humidity gage and where you bought it from. Also how much did you pay for it? thanks for the replys.

yeah, i seriously doubt the acuracy of most even thermoms. no two ever seem to read the same.
But, yeah, it helps to have one when you get started so, you know the conditions, and then even when you get better b/c you get over confident and don't pay attention like you should.

I need to visit the Shack myself, lol, thats a nice guage psil.

I wouldn't even what to try to regulate my greenhouse without a nice, accurate dependable hygrometer. Sometimes my coolmist alone running will get my humidity to 94%.

Regular electronic hygrometers really arent that reliable. They are very innacurate. The sensor they use operates with a polymer that can absorb water in the air. When they are exposed to high (>90%) humidity for a longer than 24 hours or so, the polymer becomes to moist for an accurate reading. It also will respond very slow and incorrectly to changes in humidity. After 2 days or so of regular humidity the problem usually corrects itself, but as a rule of thumb consider the displayed reading at least 2% higher than the auctual reading if the sensor has been exposed to high humidity for an extended period.
