people like this are the ones that ruin a good thing for everyone.
next thing you know they will have a special on the news about people buying nitrous cartridges in mass quantities on eBay and then bye-bye nitrous.
I wrote the guy a message telling him he needs not exploit the secondary usage of nitrous oxide. anyone who understands its potential and the level of maturity that should go along with its use should realize that its a priveledge not a right that we are able to purchase it in the first place.
anyone else who shares this opinion might also write him a message and maybe he will refrain from doing something like that in the future.

I doubt this guys ebay listing will make nitrous go "bye-bye", as you put it.

ebay will probably take the auction down when they notice it, but it's probably not gonna lead to anything else.

what a fucking chooch! I mean, he could at least just call it a whip cream charger and then have a disclaimer at the bottom saying "It is DANGEROUS to inhale nitrous oxide and listen to techno music, it will make you laugh histerically and your brain will go WahwaHWah! DO NOT INHALE" or something along those lines

I know what you mean, you think I'm being paranoid, but guess what, thats how these things happen. its not going to take 10,000 incidents of nitrous abuse from chargers bought off eBay for eBay or even the government to step in and force some regulations. all it takes is one incident, and fingers start being pointed at whos to blame. eBay is pretty strict about what gets sold on their site. If they get a few complaints, they'll do something about it. On top of that, most people have no clue this stuff is on eBay. Nobody I've ever talked to (except online) ever thought about it the idea of looking for nitrous chargers on eBay. I wonder how many people would be outraged to find their kids ordering drugs off eBay, especially from some guy who is advertising it as such, instead of advertising it for its a legal purpose? One parent that catches their kid doing it, finds the auction # and finds a reporter to do a story about it (who wouldnt be interested in that?), and before long the fun is over. Don't be naive. The title is "LAUGHING GAS DISPENSER" ...
I guess you could argue that eBay is not the only place to get it, but I could almost gurantee is the #1 source for balloon-hitters, its almost always the cheapest. And because of this, anything major that happens on eBay should affect the rest of the market.

Yeah, he could at least refrain from being so in-your-face and non-challant. The guy might as well put up a neon flashy sign that says GET YOUR DRUGS RIGHT HERE

You still can.
Just buy it from a European seller who doesn't have a problem shipping to the States

If it sounds ridiculous, it almost always is.
I don't even know what sort of strange chemical warfare could produce a weapon that actually burned holes in your brain, but that chemical is not nitrous oxide by a long haul. Nitrous oxide is, for the most part, harmless.

well, actually.. it might.
Nitrous is a disassociative. Other disassociatives would be things such as DXM, or PCP.. I believe Ketamine as well.
Olney's Leisions are the 'holes' you're talking about. I think they've been observed with very, very heavy DXM usage (I'm talking, no one probably can stand to do enough over such a long term to worry, but it's there), pretty definately PCP.. it's more caused, if I recall, by duration of use than anything else.
I don't believe that they've been observed as a result of Nitrous usage, however that does not mean that nitrous might NOT cause Olney's leisions.
So.. it's not entirely false, but it's not true either. Of greater concern, I'd say, would be going blue from lack of oxygen

"Olney's Lesions are a type of potential neurotoxicity seen with drugs that are typically classified as disassociatives (ketamine, PCP, possibly nitrous, etc.). These drugs antagonize (block) the glutamate or NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor system to produce their effects. Some researchers have found what look like "holes" or "lesions" in particular areas of the brain after sustained or high dose use of these drugs."
- Erowid, on Olney's lesions.
