your using a whole room as a fruiting chamber? How is the setup? are the air vents blocked? I think that even if a whole room were devoted to growing, that the amount of space in the room would suffice for any oxygen requirements

5meo: what kind of room is it(ie a "room" aka box in a room or something outside? how full? what are you growing? depending on what you are growing you may want to filter the air coming in threw a seperate 24x24" hepa... if you are growing woodlovers that are fully colonized before birthing in their bags, no filtration is neccessary, but fresh air coming threw a duct is neccessary...

it will be use for oysters and what ever else i have going...its a frame
8' tall, 30" deep and 5' with a metle bar at 3.5' and at 8' to hang bags from..i was thinking cool mist out side the room pumping in h2o2 water/air, and mabey just a hepa filter with no blower or mabey a fan on a timer behind it...the room is all sealed with plastic sheeting and the floor is slightly slanted with some tin pans on the end for water run off...ill try and get a camera to get pics..

sounds like a neat setup... make sure you keep some sort of positive pressure in there, ie dont put a fan on a timer if thats the only air going in or the positive pressure will be on that same timer... i made that mistake
tough to say how much fresh air you'll need for the oysters... the room i was growing them in it didnt seem like i was giving them enough.. they will definetly let you know, you can try a test run and see what the fruitbodies look like.. long stems mean high co2/not enough air... really the only way to figure it all out is to run it and then tweak tweak tweak...
good luck

i hear the warm mist ones arent recommended, the ultrasonic's really put out a lot of fog.. definetly put that thing on a timer or some sort of controlling device.. do you have the book GGMM by stamets? super useful and highly recommended.. has lots of growth parameters for like over 20 species maybe... been a great help..

looking forward to seeing pics.. it sounds like a perfect setup for a line of oyster columns

yea im interested in this whole garbage bag tek you've been talking about.. the portabello farm im working at gets their spawn in huge 40lb bags with filter patches... seems like an awesome way to make bulk BULK spawn, though if you mess up yer screwed! but really if everything is sterilized effectively and proper techniques are used in a flow hood and all.. once its sealed that should be that! no room for contams really... all or nothing thing i suppose, not really neccessary unless you are making a ton of spawn.. look forward to more posts, thanks

CoolMist isn't going to handle fresh air exchange for that size room (assuming you mean 8X8X5 feet). They don't create pressure & don't move the volume of air you need.

I would suggest a small high quality hepa filter & fan assembly blowing into something like small galvanized stove pipe (or PVC pipe), into the room.

That would create postive pressure (with a smaller filtered vent), which helps keep contam's out.

Pic below was a 8X8X20 foot steel cargo container some crazy guy had - years back.

It had positive pressure hepa filtered fresh air exchange & worked like a dream come true (so - he said).

You should buy a fan and filter assembly that can exchange the volume of air at least ten times per hour. And put the fan on a rheostat or better yet, an Automatic Variable Speed Motor Control unit (scroll all the way down). Adjust the fan according to the outside temperature or allow the motor control unit to do it for you.

Go buy Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms and The Mushroom Cultivator.

Those are the Bible, New and Old testament, respectively.

humitity is at 70% and the temps at 70, i was thinkinkin id put a heating pad under my cool mist to raise the temp just a little...im trying to keep cost of the setup down, util i start kickin out some mushrooms, i already have something going on with the guy who own earthydelight.com hes sending me a list of stuff he wants me to grow. well thanks every on and keep the feed back comeing.

If that is the case, two (2) Coolmists should do the trick, if the interior area is waterproof, or wall papered everywhere with plastic.
