help with straw please

hello to all ,have had some of them spawn bags with filter patch on them kicking a round my room for a few years now.and decided to give them a try,so pasturized the hay 1 hour at 170,then let cool to 85,then took my bird seed that had lots of rizomorfic growth .shook the shit out of it,then added the seed and straw to the bag,five days later and is amost covered 100% on the out side ,now my question is,can i just add the hole thing to the tote when it is ready.or do i HAVE to case it ,and i also used some of the water from the straw to add to the cakes ,to early to tell right now what the out come is ,but any one try this and what was the out come >thanks to all that reply

I case always the straw, the results are great. I haven't tried it without casing. I don't make cakes, but using the straw-water shouldn't be to different than using normal water. One thing is for sure, it won't harm the mycellium...
