heh took it the easy way, alright first you should line 3 sides of the tank, 4 would actually be better , if you can get a heat mat and put the under the tank or even a 40 w is enough, like the tank over a lamp,
you have the dung with the growing shrooms in a plate or just on the glass of the tank?
also you should mist them like 8-12 sprays.. they like it wet but not so much that there swimming, i find misting before you go to bed and when you wake up like 2-3 sprays and let them get some light from on top , i say as long as its getting warmth from the bottom or sides then just leaving it open it your room for 30 min is good enough

And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground (16: 14). And when the children of Israel saw if, they said one to another It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

1. active mushrooms do not grow on dung in idaho 2. just throwing dung in a fishtank will not help you grow shrooms. 3. even if actives grow on dung in idaho, which they do not, how would you know its active at all. which, BTW it is not.

also applying water directly to mushrooms will stop them from growing. but that doesnt matter. since they arent active or edible

I don't think you've done much research at all...if you had, you'd know that the shrooms you thought they were are called Psilocybe coprophila, and furthermore, that Psilocybe coprophila is not 'active'. You probably also would have checked out the FAQ (for info), and also the posting guidelines (to find out that you're not supposed to ask where / what to look for in your area). Maybe thats why you're coming up empty handed?

ok so this is wrong
Dung-Loving Psilocybe Psilocybe coprophila (Bull. ex Fr.) Kum. Strophariaceae, Agaricales Description Sticky, brownish cap with brown gills and yellowish-brown stalk. Cap 3/8" - 1 1/4" (1-3 cm) wide; convex to broadly convex or flat; margin with whitish patches at first; smooth, dark reddish-brown, fading to grayish-brown. Gills attached, nearly distant, broad; whitish to brown or purplish-brown. Stalk 3/4" - 1 5/8" (2-4 cm) long, 1/16" - 1/4" (1.5-5 mm) thick; whitish, darkening to brown, but not bruising blue. Veil (when present) partial veil evanescent. Spores 11-14 X 7-8.5 microns; elliptical, smooth, with pore at tip. Spore print purplish-brown. Edibility Hallucinogenic. Season June-October. Habitat Single to numerous, on horse or cow dung. Range Widely distributed in North America. Look-alikes P. merdaria has central ring zone on stalk. Stropharia semiglobata is ringed, yellowish. Panaeolus species have black spores.Coprinus species liquefy. Comments This weak hallucinogen is the most widespread psilocybe in North America. Images 150k, 51k, 9k editor's note Some of the look-alike species are edible, poisonous, or no mention is made of their bio-chemical qualities. One of the species in the Panaeolus genus, the Girdled Panaeolus (Panaeolus subbalteatus), is mentioned as also being hallucinogenic and common enough to be considered a weed. No photo or description of it was included in this set. Check other resources for further info, I'm only covering some of the psilocybes here.

Yup, about the hallucinogeic part anyway. Some reports have it that P.coprophila may contain trace amounts of psilocybin / psilocin, but nothing you could realistically trip from.

You have the Specifications on Ps. Coprophila. That's good. You should disect your finds and see if they match the description. If they do, then you have found a technically non-potent species of Psilocybe. Congratulations, if that turns out to be true.

I find P. coprophila all the time. They don't bruise blue, are listed as hallucinogenic (tho, i've never ate them). Those don't resemble what I find. The pics are blurry, they may have lighter coloration. I do believe those resemble Stropharia semiglobata I don't feel like typing the description
