You don't have to nuke the verm just because the bag was open. Is the bag sitting in a room full of mouldy bread? Of course not.

You are going to use the verm to make up some substrate right? And you will be sterilizing the jars once you fill them with substrate right?

Don't worry about pre-sterilizing the verm.
