regarding liquid culture
    #4267727 - 06/07/05 12:35 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

a FOAF is currently in a position where they only have about six half pinters completely colonized and 3 dozen freshly sterilized jars. now the plan is to use a g2g for some and a karo/water liquid culture with the other half. (the method where one would zap some of the mixture into the jar then suck it back out). question is: has there been any success stories of dropping a chunk of the colonized substrate directly into the jar?? shooting spores into the jar would be great if there were there even were any available spores. so how would dropping in a chunk work out??

Should work, they are grain jars right? not PF jars.
If they are PF it would take a long time to colonise as you cant shake them.

yep, they were all wbs jars with a bit of verm. to soak up any extra water so there wasn't a pool in the jars
