First timer (Cubensis B+ ; A-Strain ; Mestizo (mexico))
    #4267066 - 06/07/05 08:37 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Hi there i am new to this forum. Have read something aboat growing shroomsm PF-tek method...

So i have bought 3 syringes, strains listed in title.

I have mix vermiculite and brown rice flour, fill 2dl jars with it and
sterilize in pressure cooker for 1 hour

When they cool down i apply 1 ml of solution in a jar.

I have 10 jars inoculatied in the morning with ( Cubensis A-Strain )

Now i have 10 jars more and they are cooling down... and 2 syringes left will use one a little later i aboat a weeor two.

So witch one should i use Cubensis B+ or Cubensis Mestizo (Mexico)

Will post pictures later in the day

Thanks for replys

dunk and roll: remove your cakes from the jars and submerge in water in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours, no more though. then remove from the water and roll the cakes in a damp vermiculite. then fruit as normal. this allows more moisture to be retained by the cakes.
you are using a pressure cooker to sterilize or just boiling?
it would be best to let them cool in the pot or pc a while before removing them.
what is the mixture you used for your pf jars.
should be a 2:1:1 ratio, vermiculite 2 parts, brown rice flour 1 part, water 1 part.
peace

they look ok, just some condensation on the inside of the jars, possibly from cooling too fast. leaving them in the pc and cooling slowly will help.
are those jars or glasses of some kind?

to answer your original question, i have been hearing a lot of rumors that B+ grows slow. but really, those aren't tested so just pick one. good luck on your first grow!

I think you should try giving them more light daily. Ive heard some say a 12/12 light cycle is good just like when budding a MJ Plant.

Wow--I'm just getting ready to start my first grow. I kind of hope it doesn't take as long to see fruits, but I'm glad to see your effort paying off. Very soon you can enjoy the reward of your labors. I'm going to try mixed cakes and casings from one syringe, myself.

Yeah, only a few hours later...they grow fast when they get bigger. Any are fine to pick from the point when the veil is starting to tear. If you wait for them to tear the veil and the caps to flatten out you get a little more weight, but spores can get all over the place too, making a mess. Just pick each shroom as its ready though, thats fine..or wait till theyre all ready, then harvest all at once and go again..it all works

In my opinion - no scientific backing, I would think that it would HELP the other shrooms in that cake because they would have to share less nutrients with that one big mushroom gone. It probably wouldn't do much.. but if anything, it may just help.

Sukalo, I say good job on your first grow. Congratulations. It looks like a very successful attempt. Great luck to you in the future as well.

Hey man.  Very nice looking shrooms there. :whoah:

Be sure that those caps that are printing stay clear of any contams in the air.  I notice you don't have a glass over any of them.
