    #426644 - 10/15/01 07:24 PM (22 years, 1 month ago)

Ive got a really cheap pressure cooker which has no regulator.. How can i check what psi it cooks at? The instruction manual doesnt mention it, and is also in Italian. Its a "Bozzini Pentola a Pressione". Any help?

Get a new pressure cooker or take a course in Italian.

there are stripes that you can adhere on the outside of your cooker, that show you the temperature.
there are also stripes that you put inside the pressure cooker that also show you the same. the later can be obtained at www.fungi.com .

If it doesnt have any sort of dial/gauge then it probably has a pressure release set to around 10 psi, in the case of my pressure cooker there's a weight which sits on top of a gas exit tube that will kind of gently rock back and forth when the thing gets up to 10 psi

I have the same system with my pressure cooker, but it reaches the temperature of 120?C, which I measured with the aforementioned stripes.
