Garlic Tek
    #426632 -

I'm working on the idea of using a garlic slurry as the water base for a rye grain jar media.

I'll have results at some point in the future, but I'd like to know what input anyone has on this.

As we know, garlic is a natural antibiotic. However, does anyone know the effects on cubes?

Honey is an antibiotic and we use in for liquid medium.

It could also be an antimycoticum, and be bad for cubensis and other fungi. If you want to test the antimycotikum properties use agar made with different concentrations of a surrogate of the e.g. garlic. Inoculate and compare the growth against a standard medium. There are a lot of plants which have this properties, e.g. Salvia divinorum.

Elekt - thanks for the tips on how to test
Larry - So, do you have any thoughts on the addition of the antibiotic to the substrate, rather than liquid use?
