Raid Resistant Spiders

It seems the bigger the spider, the more invincible it is.
I'm not afraid of them beyond the basic requirement for my survival, which means I'm not about to put my hand in a tank of black widows, but I just had a huge brown spider similar to the one in my avatar crawl next to my head. I jumped up and got the trusty Raid and sprayed the thing once. It ran in my slipper, and I continued to spray it. It ran behind my computer, and I continued to spray in that area.
I wait, like a predator waiting for its prey to come out, and there it came, completely conscious and vital. I sprayed it until it was completely white, and it STILL went on until I finally just full-out attacked it and chopped it legs off, finally crushing it with a wooden staff I keep near me.
Are they becoming resistant or what? This huge piece of shit had 5 minutes of Raid, which I am sitting in a cloud of as I speak, and didn't die. Does anybody else notice this?
I don't normally kill spiders, and in fact like them quite a lot, but I make a noticeable exception for anything bigger than my hand in this case.

House and Garden.
Maybe you're right, I just grabbed the first one I saw. I would've physically killed it to start off with and not poisoned myself, but it was quick little bastard.

True, but sometimes the spiders are smarter than the humans. They're better at hiding, and I knew I wasn't going to sleep with what looked like a brown recluse spider a few feet away.
Though they're more afraid of us than we are of them, eh? With good reason I suspect.

Spiders don't have feelings?
What about that sweet little tarantula I used to have? It'd pull at my fingers with it's little teeth, and crawl up my arm and down my shirt. Quite a loving little animal, eh?

Because I like to encourage evolution.
If spiders are dying, it means they're either not quick enough or not poisonous enough. I help them change this.

Yeah, same thing has happened to me, I was using the ant and roach raid and gave a big spider the shower of it's life and it was still running around. Then I put it into a jar and sprayed into the jar with the poison. I think it drowned. That was kind of mean, I wouldn't do it again. If a spider is in your house, either kill it by squashing it, or release it into the outdoors. They are pests and do not belong in human dwellings despite all the wonderful insects they kill and their importance in the food chain. I have a theory that humans began co-existing with canines simply because canines eat arachnids/insects without remorse and therefore make safer environments for humans. The end.

Use spray bleach and/or a flame thrower. As a last case scenario, with good aim, a shotgun would work too. But be prepared to patch up the hole in your wall.

Invest in some creatures called "cats".
A couple of those natural-predators with natural night-vision will take care of those pesky lil' critters.
And not to mention they're great companions in the meantime, and there is always a cat or two nearby a local shelter that could use a warm, dry home with loving caretakers such as yourself.
Adopt a cat today.
