Authorities confiscated more than 8 gallons of pure PCP from a Ladera Ranch apartment over the weekend and characterized the estimated $12.3 million seizure today as the largest-ever haul of the hallucinogenic drug in Orange County.
Police were still seeking the suspected maker of the drug, Taylor Winston Wright, 37, who lived at the apartment.
Wright outran sheriff's deputies Saturday and got away after they answered complaints of a suspicious odor permeating from a garage at an apartment complex at 2000 Corporate Drive, sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.
Residents at the complex were briefly evacuated after the drugs were found. A vehicle reportedly stolen from Los Angeles also was parked in Wright's garage.
