I found what seems to be some liberty caps growing on a hay bail thats been sitting around for a while. Do liberty caps usually grow on hay, if not, what do they grow on? :mushroom2:

Nope, they grow out of living grass, mainly from grazed pastureland (sheep paddocs etc) or well fertilized fields like soccer fields.
Theres a lot of shrooms that people can mistake for liberty caps if they don't know exactly what they're looking for. Try to get some pics and / or a spore print.
