We had some rain the other day and there were a bunch of mushrooms that popped up in the back yard. I am obviously a noob judging by this being my first post. Im interested in getting into the hobby and figured Id need to start somewhere. So.... a. This was growing in a flower bed with topsoil and woodchips b. Brown Gills, attached c. cap 1.5 in to 2 in stem about 3in d. white/brown stem, hollow, .25in thick e. Brown Cap, leathery texture f. I think its a white spore print Looking for a possible ID
Looks like Agrocybe dura should have a brown spore print, it's a pretty common mushroom on wood chips in the spring. It is a confusing mushroom to identify, because it can have a lot of different colors depending on the weather.
