Unroasted Coffee Beans and Rye... 25/75%
    #4261575 - 06/05/05 11:08 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I don't know how well this would work... but I remember reading a while back that adding coffee to the Rye simmer increased colonizatino speed and yield, so the idea occurred to me to try rehydrating unroasted coffee beans (green coffee beans), and mixing it with rye... at least to see how she goes.  I'll post results as soon as I can afford to buy some... I'm kind of very poor right now.  You know how it goes, with rent and all... bleh.  If anyone else wants to try and post results, well please do!

The colonization slows down considerably with a stout coffee soak. Colonization crawls. That's why in the tek it says to use a weak coffee solution for the soak. Much better.

I would agree...my coffee experiments with ground coffee, going up the scale of concentration, all contamed with a lovely irish green. Not sure what it is...acidic substrate or what have you, but that sounds like a troublesome mix. GL.
