Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Supreme Court recently strike down mandatory minimum sentences as unconstitutional?

I do recall reading about that a year or two back. I could be wrong though, but it sounds very familiar.

Can anyone provide a link for this? I'm in a reading kinda mood tonight.

I hope the bill does not pass. That would be pointless throwing marijuana users/dealers in there with rapist and murderers.

and not only marijuana users either...under the conditions of this bill..anyone that fails to inform on drug use in the presence of minors is guilty of a federal offense..even if they dont use drugs...
