Everyone has there movie while tripping. Their one movie that gives them tingles and a smile just thinking about. So whats yours? Lets hear about your one "The Movie" and why. This post is dedicated to probably my favorit trip movie ever Alice in Wonderland (live version) not animated. It has the most vibrant colors, the best symbolism, and coolest actors, not-to-mention a HoT chick to boot.

i love alice in wonderland, and it has been with me for both an acid trip and a shroom trip ... but it became quite depressing and confusing on acid. however, the one movie that just SMACKED me in the face was Dazed and Confused ... this was my first time shrooming, and i had over half an eighth, but for the first 45 minutes i thought they were bunk ... from then on until the peak, it started hitting me HARD. It came on so strong and I was so unprepared that I just totally freaked out, and just fell about my friend's room, saying I wanted it to end, that I just wanted to go to sleep, and the whole room was just ALIVE with shit. Well my friend put on Dazed and Confused, and almost suddenly my bad trip turned into ecstacy. the movie is just so positive and funny that I couldn't help but be happy. from then on, for the rest of the night i had a blast. i'd love to watch yellow submarine on acid, tho

The "Howling 2" Great mushroom movie. Discovered it one night while tripping alone I had rented it and for some reason decided to pop it in the vcr while I was trippin and I discovered a winner. From the time the movie came on I was entrnaced!I was mezmorized with the visuals it was throwing off. Plus the punk rock band was insane. The club scene was 200% psychadelic ya gotta see it in the right frame of mindThe movie only gets better and better. I'm always sad one it ends and often watch it again. There are several versions of this film. The HBO/Thorn-Emi version is the one I'm talking about the other prints have been lightened and don't have the same effect. Very upseting! Make sure you get the HBO print it's great fun and the movie has the best closing credits in the history of movies. No bullshit. It's kinda a guy flick though lots of great stuff Check it out for a wild ride. It's best when viewed on cubie's it's very very very entertaining while tripping. I own several copies of this film I can't get enuf of it!

Fear and Loathing is a good movie to see while tripping. Personally I don't like movies much when I'm on acid unless I'm having a boring or "bad" trip. Except The Matrix, which I've only seen on shrooms and acid and that was fun both times. And what is it with people allways wanting to see The Wall when they're tripping? That movie just makes me want to shoot myself when it's over.

Yeah, I've never seen Princess Mononoke while tripping, but I'm sure that would be one of the best movies out there for watching while tripping the brain fantastic.

The best movie by far while on mushrooms or any psychadelic would have to be "WAKING LIFE"! Its fucking amazing while you're wigging out. The movie was filmed in live action, and then they animated over it so everythings always moveing and shit, its so intense, even when im sober and i watch it it just trips me out. Even the plot of the movie is perfect for a shroomer, bbecause it talks about dreams and how maybe you're dead and you're just dreaming your waking life. A great movie for anyone that loves to trip out.

There's only one film I would consider to have on while tripping.
Baraka
You have GOT to see Baraka. Its a 1992 IMAX movie released on DVD. If you see it with an open mind, you'll know why. I believe Baraka is one of the best movies ever made. Words cannot express -- thats why there are no words in it.
If you wanted to show an alien a movie about Life on Earth, you would pop Baraka in the UFO VCR.

Dude, I can't believe that no one on here ever mentions Heavy Metal (the original, avoid 2000). A classic for stoning, tripping, etc.

Yellow Submarine. It is a true journey through the heart. I could kill those blue meanies. And poor Jeremy, he deserves a ride in my sub.

Alice in Wonderland (Disney animated) is my favorite.
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?
I have to give Wizard of Oz and Fantasia2000 honorable mentions.

i used to love that movie but now some of the acting and dialogues feel too forced and pretentious to me.... they kind of get on my nerves. It's a mindfuck the first time you see it though!

Linklater is pretentious.
I think that's why I like him.

Ah I watched this on 2 hits of acid, sadly I was taking forever to come up and it only really started to hit me at a decent level when the movie had ended, still an amazing movie. I really want to see yellow submarine next time and I believe I will.
Tried watching woodstock later on in the trip and it just didn't flow well. Also if anyone has seen the ayahuasca scenes from the movie blueberry, I think that would have to be the best thing to trip to.

Any of Hayao Miyazaki's films are great. Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Naussica of the Valley of the Wind, etc. All are amazing.

I saw Pulp Fiction while on shrooms and say "the miracle" in a much new light similar and finally got it. Also a beer commercial with a huge rack falling to the ground almost put me in tears, I don't know why I, don't drink.
101 Dalmations is a favorite perhaps I should try it out.

I don't know why but Final Fantasy is the most amazing CG movie ever. It's story is very cool, the graphics are insane and I love to pause the still frame and watch the characters continuing to move. Seen it about 7 or 8 times and about half of those were shroomin. My God it never gets old. I wish there were more CG films like that one....

i just wisht hey hadn't linked it to final fantsay, if it had been released as its own movie instead of part of the final fantasy franchise it would have done much better financially

Seriously, wtf? I think if the movie had not been associated with that then a lot more people might be intrigued by it. But the Final Fantasy I remember were always these cheesy stories about searching for lost dragons and kind of lame stuff like that. But the movie had absolutely nothing to do with any of those games. I don't really understand the title but damn it was (is) an awesome movie

I agree with a lot of what you said in your post. I love Alice in Wonderland on shrooms too. And dazed and confused is also one of my toip 5 favorite movies to watch. I had a similar situation with freaking out when i peaked, and had i put in Dazed and Confused at that time i probably would have been able to mellow out.

Solaris (by soderberg, not tarkovsky(although also great)).
I love this movie. On mushrooms it is almost too intense because of the hardcore emotional impact. Complete mindfuck at times, blindingly beautiful visual effects, superb acting and cast, mindblowing soundtrack.
Nothing can move me like this movie can. Highly recommended.

2nd choice would be Donnie Darko, without a doubt.

I havent seen Baraka while tripping but I can easily say Baraka is one of the few movies that has changed my life. It is a masterpiece.
In terms of tripping, I've only seen one movie and it was Alice in Wonderland (animated), but the audio was off sync by a split second which made it even more hilarious.
