Lord Sitar mp3s
    #4256005 - 06/04/05 01:21 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Who doesn't love the sitar? Nobody, right? Well here are some mp3s by a guy named Lord Sitar. With a name like that, you know it's going to be good. These covers were recorded in 1968. Here's what Borderline Books says about the Lord.........

Quote:

Lord Sitar

ALBUM:
1 LORD SITAR (Capitol ST 2916) 1968

A minor collectable boosted in value by speculations that Lord Sitar was George Harrison whose interest in sitars and gurus was well-known. Competent instrumentals include covers of Daydream Believer, I Am The Walrus, Eleanor Rigby, I Can See For Miles, Black Is Black and more and make for pleasant if languid listening. The mystery person behind the album turns out to be U.K. session super-hero Big Jim Sullivan and the album was also issued on Columbia SX/SCX 6256 in the U.K. in 1968.... So this should be in Tapestry Of Delights and not Fuzz!!

(Max Waller)

Listen and discuss............

Lord Sitar - "I Am The Walrus" (Beatles)
5.19mb / 3:45

Lord Sitar - "Blue Jay Way" (Beatles)
5.83mb / 4:14

Lord Sitar - "Eleanor Rigby" (Beatles)
3.19mb / 2:19

Lord Sitar - "I Can See For Miles" (The Who)
5.03mb / 3:39

Interesting idea, average music.

No it's definately not the best sitar playing I've ever heard, but it's the concept and the arrangements that are enjoyable.
