FPS problem?
    #4257964 - 06/04/05 11:32 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

I just re-formated my cousins computer. Before he said he was getting betwwen 30-40 fps in DoD and now he's only getting 10-15.... He uses onboard video (intel 82845G chipset) and I installed the latest drivers and he's still getting shit fps. Anyone know what could be going wrong?

thanks

thats the problem, onboard video shares ram with the rest of the pc

its not going to be very fast just because of that

I understand that onboard sucks, but thats not his problem. He was getting 30-40 fps WITH onboard before I re-formated it.

I'm having problems with my fps too. I have a P4 1.8GHz and an ATi Radeon 9600XT and Day of Defeat is only running 45fps(sometimes dropping to 25)on average, it was the same way when I had my CPU clocked at 2.13 GHz. I know I should be getting way better fps than that in a game like DoD. Any ideas on why it's so shitty?

Some things i can think of:
a) Game video resolution and detail settings.
b) Windows video advanced settings. Any settings at all ?
c) DirectX version.
d) Sound drivers and settings.
