Cold shock. What is "room temperature"? They should be in the low 70's. Also, they need a lot of fresh air. They can't be sealed in a jar with saran wrap on them... well they can.. but you'll do better if you give them lots of fresh air. More light is not needed .. they just need light to know which way is up. Be sure to mist as well. The casing layer should be always moist. See pic.

Taken from Hyphae's post.

Good luck

God raised up the fellow who was relaxed in the company of tax collectors, prostitutes and other outsiders, and went on to say that many of them would be welcomed to God?s banquet table long before those self-righteous people on display at church.

You added a casing layer to the top of a colonized rye jar? Now you have cling wrap over the tops. What about FRESH AIR EXCHANGE. That is one of the key pinning triggers - besides light.

Are the jars wrapped in foil, or has anything been done to withhold light to all but the jars open top surface. If not, when they pin, they will pin inside the sides of the jars.
