What ultrasonic cycles do you use?
    #4256523 - 06/04/05 06:09 PM (13 years, 17 days ago)

My buddy has a 96 gal. rubbermaid tub, with a halls coolmist humidifier and a holmes ultrasonic humidifier running at 35 min on 1hour 20 off. He is going to be putting casings in his terrarium, he just set it up and is wondering what a good cycle for his ultrasonic is, he is leaving the cool mist on 24/7 for air exchange. What do you guys think?

10min every 2hrs for a martha setup..so maybe even a bit less, you will have to mess with the settings yourself

See what the coolmist alone keeps rh at, then use ultrasonic to suppliment rh, as needed. No ones setting will work for you - as the variables are to wide. Tinker with it & you will find what works for you.

Yup, listen to the Man. It depends on how humid it is where you live. I was so worried about being able to keep the humidity up in my greenhouse before I got it, and now the only thing I am using is a coolmist. And that has to be on a timer. On 1/2 hour, off 1 1/2 hours and the humidity is staying at 90%.

Yeah I know it is an individual thing you have to find out for yourself. My friend was just trying to get some idea as to what other people do so he has a starting point. He has it set up for 15 mins every hour and 15 mins right now and it seems to be going ok. He'll keep me posted.

My friend does 30 on and 60 off. He uses the low setting and has the dial at 50% on his holmes. I should add that it is ran through a gallon container and then up 4 feet of tubing on the martha (keeps humidy lower than straight in).

The humidity seems about right and plenty of air is getting in.
