To me it looks like a Lacrymaria (Psathyrella) velutina. Althought alot of times spore prints for this species is purplish/black, and yours seems a definite black.

It could be our color contrasts in the screen, or maybe the picture isn't showing color detail well. Is it a definite black color?

Yeah, they resemble cubes more than subs. But they are niether.

Psathyrella species change cap colors as they lose moisture. Typically they will go from a dark brown to a light tan color.

exactly, light or infertile means immature and no spores, or just no spores.
ive alsways found that darker gilled mushrooms drop more spores, up to a point of course
