dunking with nutrient rich water

I just dunked my cakes for 12 hours with water/h202 and was wondering if after the first flush i could dunk them in water that was boiled with potatoes to get some nutrients and water back to the cakes to make the next flush fuller. Has anyone tried this and found it helpful. Also could you use uninoculated karo water to dunk the cakes? Thank you

Dunking in any nutrient water is going to be pretty ineffective. Nutrition is drawn from existing food source in my experience, i.e. nutrients can't be added to cakes/casings after the fact with noticeable results.

I guess i misunderstood. I thought you could get nutes back to the cakes somehow. Ive read that dunking in 50/50 coffee/water seems to do this, but if what you say is true then a coffee dunk would be pointless too, unless the caffeine stimulates growth in some way. What are your thoughts on this, Diver?

I feel that H20 dunking is extremely effective, but have yet to see a nutrient of any type pay off. Just my .02

Diver, you said "nutes. can't be added after the fact". Wouldn't spawning a cake to poo essentialy be adding nutes.? BTW your gallery is pretty sweet. Much respect!

It's not the same thing. Spawning to poo is expanding the substrate and nutritional base, where as dunking in a solution is just what is sounds like. Does that help?

Hmmm, I had this idea of injecting a nutrient solution into the casing/cakes after the first flush. Like making a karo solution and injecting it with a siringe into the substrate. I thought this would prevent the casing from shrinking (due lack of moisture in the inside) and maybe be good for the next flushes... So, did I get it all wrong?
