Shouldn't SOMETHING be growing on my casing?

Theoretically of course, let's assume that I recently cased fully colonized PF cakes using a 50/50 mix. The strain is EQ, and the jars took about one month to colonize. It's been 8 days since i cased and NOTHING is happening. The casings look the same as when I put them in there 8 days ago.

I have been misting once a day and the casing soil looks and feels slightly moist but not wet. Shouldn't I be getting some sort of indication of growth? Shit, even if cobweb mold was growing at least there would be something going on in there. I hate looking every day and not seeing any progress at all.

Is it too soon? I know it's good to be patient but it seems like i should be seeing some mycelium by now creeping up through the casing layer. Help?

Oh yeah, the casings are sitting in a large rubbermaid container with perlite humidification. The condensation on the walls is very noticable leading me to believe I have above 90% humidity. I was just thinking, could putting saran wrap over the trays help mycelium growth? I figured since they were in the tererium they wouldn't need that.

shouldve incubated the casing layer first..put some saran wrap on it..poke some holes in the saran wrap and put it away for a few days..you should see growth soon.
