compost question

ok i have some ash left over from a fire last night, its nice and white we let it burn way down. I was wodneirng what benieft it adds to a compost?

also if i add some wbs to it for nutrients to compost will it make it so i have to sterilize or still do i pasteruize.

ash adds carbon
as long as the wood you burnt was untreated
it should be beneficial to ur compost pile/bin since carbon is used
by the microorganisms as energy
even go with dryer lint
